About the Role
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Network Administrator is responsible for the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, and VPN services. The position emphasizes proactive monitoring, cybersecurity enforcement, performance optimization, and rapid incident response.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Configure, manage, and monitor firewall security policies, VPNs, and remote access solutions.
Ensure high availability and performance of LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks across multiple locations.
Monitor network traffic, logs, and alerts to identify and remediate performance or security issues.
Implement and enforce network security best practices, including segmentation, access control, and intrusion prevention.
Support user connectivity issues and provide escalation support for network-related incidents.
Collaborate with Systems Administrators on server, virtualization, and cloud connectivity requirements.
Assist with network design, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
Participate in backup connectivity, disaster recovery, and failover planning.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for circuits, hardware support, and escalations.
Support after-hours maintenance windows and on-call response for critical network events.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position, requiring a combination of remote network management and periodic on-site support for hardware installations, upgrades, and critical incidents. Evening or weekend work may be required during scheduled maintenance or emergency situations.
